We’re off… moving out of Glacier and on to… Whitefish, Montana. As we’ve come to find, taking recommendations from locals or people who’ve been there before has worked out for some of our best experiences. So, while we were at Map Brewing in Bozeman, one of the guys in the kitchen told us we needed to hit Whitefish on our way out. He said there was a good brewery next to the lake and it was a nice area… so we did. We took a walk around down main street in Whitefish, and then hit the Bonsai Brewing Project.

It was a great time and was super laid back… again, it was a place that seemed to be serving beer and food in their backyard, and super dog-friendly. The day was going great then… one of the things we’ve learned on this trip… actually I’m going to save that for my next lessons learned post… but needless to say, you make wrong decisions… and I did… and then we were off to sleep in another Walmart because the campground I picked was just… it was just the worst… and it took forever to get to… so, on to Walmart..where we rented a movie from redbox to watch on our laptop and ate copious amounts of ramen, so the night was saved.
The next day we headed to Coeur D’Alene, which is French for Heart D’Alene, not sure what the Alene part is… I’m educated… no big deal (Tara told me that Coeur was heart). This was a great place… we took Murphy for a hike through Tubbs Hill on the lake, where he spent the day swimming and chilling on the beach… and so did we.
Then a quick bite to eat on Sherman Ave, at the Iron Horse (the best nachos I’ve had in a very long time) and stopped for absurd portions of ice cream, because well…#whatwouldpatdugando?
And on to Spokane… the moving rock doesn’t get moss… or, the rolling stone is Randy Moss… I don’t remember how it goes… but it’s something about a rock gathering no moss… because it’s moving. That’s what we are between places we want to see… To Spokane!
Actually, it was more like Spokan’t… we didn’t stop here… didn’t seem to be that much going on. We went on to Moses Lake, where we actually stayed at a Quality Inn. Now, I know what you’re thinking… you’re thinking, Derek, you have a camper… why pay to stay in a hotel?… I mean, stay at another Walmart right?… I’ll tell you why devout readers… because sometimes you need a shower and all your underwear is dirty… shower and laundry… that’s what Quality Inn gave us, for a cool $70, which was well worth it, and it was what we needed.
Now we’re moving on to Olympic NP. Sasquatch better watch his ass… this road trip has been a rouse… I want to find Bigfoot, and he knows it…
